To extract and install a Lexor® wiper blade refill, simply slip out the old insert and slide in the new insert. In the case of Pylon® inserts, remember to first remove the clip at the end before pulling the insert out. As for Trico® wiper blades, the tab at the end should be turned up to enable removal. Reposition the tab after instilling the spare insert. The clip secures the Tripledge® wiper blade insert. In order to work efficiently, it is always best to keep the windshield and wiper blades clean. Dirty or streaky windshields cause constant friction and damage to your blades. Thus, it is recommended to wash your windshield with a commercial cleaner once a month. Also, wipe down the rubber blades to keep them clean. To inspect or replace the wiper blade elements, position the wiper switch in the LOW speed position and the ignition switch in ACC. When the blades are in the vertical position, turn the ignition off. Check the parts for cracks and rips, replacing it if necessary straightaway. As the usage can affect the replacement intervals of the parts. It is usually checked in around one year. It becomes worse due to the ozone so they deteriorate. If aftermarket blades have been installed, note that they may not be the same as the original equipment. There are many types of aftermarket blades. Anco® type has a release button for removal and installation. Trico® refills require a screwdriver to release the refill or metal tabs that must be squeezed to unlock. The locking device on polycarbonate refills enables easy release. For Tridon® refills, removing the wiper blade and twisting the backing strip frees the refill. Always follow the instructions of the manufacturer and make sure that all frame jaws are engaged during the installation to avoid scratching the glass.
