Mitsubishi Sigma Tie Rod End Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the tie rod end on Mitsubishi Sigma?
    A:
To remove and install the tie rod end of the Mirage, Precls, Sigma and Galant raise and support the car safely on stands. After that, take off the cotter pin and the ball stud retaining nut and then use a vise-type device to press the ball stud down and out of the steering knuckle. Use a back-up wrench to loosen the nut at the tie-rod end inner end while counting the number of turns to unscrew it. Following the same number of turns as the original one, install the new tie rod end in its original position. Attach the joint to the knuckle and fit the castellated nut, tightening to 23 Nm or 17 ft. lbs. for most models, and 15 Nm or 11 ft. lbs. For Galant. You should turn the nut until the castellations line up with the hole in the stud and fit a new cotter pin. The inner nut must be secured at 51 Nm (38 ft. lbs.). Install the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground. In the end, have the alignment examined in a good repair center.
