    To install the ignition switch on a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant, first disconnect the negative battery cable for safety. Remove the steering column covers by unscrewing the bottom panel. Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the switch. Remove the mounting screws or retaining bolts to slide the old switch out. Insert the new switch, secure it with screws, and reconnect the plug. Reassemble the column covers and reconnect the battery to test the ignition.
