Mitsubishi Knock Sensor

The Knock Sensor of Mitsubishi immediately identifies dangerous engine vibrations and allows the computer to fine-tune ignition timing. The Mitsubishi offers a diverse lineup of cars boasting spirited performance that comes with great reliability. The MIVEC engines are extremely lightweight, complemented by the Super All Wheel Control, which assures great traction and confident performance. To top it off, the smart in-cabin technology links up to smartphones for easy everyday use. The firm set about creating vehicles over one hundred years ago and continues to improve fuel efficiency through the introduction of plug-in hybrid systems. Current research into alternative propulsion is always aimed at simple operation, promoting a driving experience that is both fun and economical. Mitsubishi's engines are reliable and affordable, so you can trust it when you need repairs; they won't be overpriced. The various Mitsubishi models are reasonably priced. The Knock Sensor is located near the engine block and it's listening for high-frequency tremors that get produced when fuel ignites too early or otherwise creates a condition known as spark knock. A piezoelectric device changes these jolts into signals which the powertrain computer reads in real time, altering the ignition timing within milliseconds to ensure combustion remains controlled, power continues strong, and component parts won't get damaged. As a result of being interfaced to the crankshaft and camshaft data stream, the Knock Sensor will provide focused protection without requiring any additional maintenance. This compact device presents smoother acceleration, cleaner emissions, and improved fuel economy across the entire vehicle range.

Pick genuine OEM Knock Sensor if you want superb performance and durability that lasts. Mitsubishi builds that using high-grade materials and official factory techniques to meet very strict standards. This means you get parts you can actually trust for your daily drive. Finding the right parts is simple in the massive stock of genuine inventory. You can stop guessing if a part will fit or hold up. You will love the low prices, dependable service and the real manufacturer's warranty on Mitsubishi Knock Sensor. Order today and the store will ship your brand-new items to your door as fast as possible.

Mitsubishi Knock Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the knock sensor on Mitsubishi Galant?
    A:
This procedure only applies to models equipped with a V6 engine and 2.4L DOHC engine. The knock control system suppresses spark knock during heavy detonation to optimize spark advance for improved driveability. The knock sensor detects abnormal engine vibrations, sending a voltage signal to the PCM which increases in response to knock severity. The signal prompts the PCM to retard ignition until knock ceases. On V6 models, the intake manifold cover conceals the knock sensor. Make sure the ignition key is set to OFF. For V6 coded models the cooling system must be drained and the intake manifold removed. For 2.4L DOHC coded models the intake manifold stay must be removed. Unplug the knock sensor connector then unbolt the knock sensor. In case the old sensor were to be reused, thread sealant should be applied. New sensors come pre-coated with sealant so none should be put on. Put the knock sensor in place. Tighten the knock sensor to the required torque; do not overtighten. Then, connect the electrical connector. On V6 models, the intake manifold is reinstalled; On 2.4L DOHC models, the intake manifold stay is reinstalled. Lastly, on V6 models, refill cooling system and check for leaks.
