Mitsubishi Lancer Wiper Motor

Mitsubishi Lancer Wiper Motor units provide the electric power that operates the wipers on the windshield, allowing drivers to have a clear view of the road ahead when it is raining or the road is being sprayed. The Wiper Motor is placed in the cowl section beneath the hood and has an electric drive and gear system to provide rotational force for the back and forward motion necessary to force the water away using the blades and their rubber inserts. There are multiple speed options to ensure a constant or fast movement to keep the windshield clear in different conditions. In the Mitsubishi Lancer assembly manual, the Wiper Motor is handled as a core electrical component whose positioning connects directly with the wiper arms to ensure that the mechanism is not exposed to harmful elements and that it provides torque effectively. Replacement assemblies come in either new or remanufactured versions; each one is designed to do the same job of converting electrical energy into mechanical motion. Typical wear conditions consist of long-term stress on the gear set or internal circuitry. Once worn out, the motor will make noise or not start, indicating the need to replace it. The motor, washer pump, and wiring work in the Mitsubishi Lancer windshield are operated consistently to ensure that the windshield is kept clean to avoid interfering with visual safety. In this simple design, Mitsubishi concentrates on dependable power supply, and every Lancer relies on its Wiper Motor to carry out a crucial visibility task.

Mitsubishi Lancer Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the windscreen wiper blade, wiper arm, wiper motor, and wiper linkage on Mitsubishi Lancer?
    A:
To take the wiper blade out and put it back in the wiper arm you raise the windscreen wiper arm and blade away from the windscreen until it locks in the vertical position. After you press the clip at the center of the wiper blade and slide the blade off the hook on the end of the wiper arm. You reinstall the wiper blade is a reversal of this procedure ensuring the clip locks the blade securely. To renew the wiper blade rubber, first remove the wiper blade itself. Once this is done, grip the lower end of the rubber using pliers and pull these rubber tabs free from the claws of the metal blade. Continue this process until the rubber is completely removed. Following that, by observing the direction of the metal rail's bow, extract the metal rails from the old rubber and throw it away To install the new rubber, insert the metal rails in the side slots of the rubber according to the picture below, which shows the correct orientation (the bow must face outside/to the end). Now insert the rubber into the blade claws. Important: Do not disengage the metal rails, and make sure the tabs face the lower end of the wiper blade. Align the small slots at the end of the rubber blade with the metal claws of the wiper blade and mount the wiper blade on the wiper arm. To remove the wiper arm, Position the wipers in the Park position. Prise the plastic cover (if fitted) and remove the wiper arm retaining nut. Carefully prise the wiper arm from the wiper pivot shaft taking care not to damage the vehicle. In some cases, it may be necessary to lift the wiper arm from the windscreen and rock the wiper arm back and forth with the nut loose to separate the wiper arm from the pivot shaft. By using this method, leverage is not taken from the windscreen. Installation involves reversing the sequence so that with the wiper motor at Park position, the wiper blades shall be parallel to the windscreen weather strip and about 20 mm above it and shall not contact the windscreen surround during operation. To remove the wiper motor, first, disconnect the vehicle battery negative terminal and the wiring from the motor. Next, remove the retaining bolts and partially withdraw the motor from the firewall. With a flat-bladed screwdriver, separate the linkage from the motor, note that you will not removed the arm from the motor. The installation is the reverse of this process, ensuring the linkage is secure to the wiper motor arm; if you are not sure of the park position on installation it is best to remove the wiper arms, to prevent damage when the motor is first used, followed by ensuring the retaining bolts are safely tight and the wiring connector is secure. To remove and install the wiper linkage, first remove the wiper arms and motor, before raising the bonnet and prising the clips retaining the plenum cover, releasing the clips and withdrawing the cover. Remove the pivot shaft retaining nuts from the two sides of the vehicle and manoeuvre the wiper linkage from the vehicle. Installation is the same as the removal but ensure the pivot shaft retaining nuts are tightened before installing the wiper motor and the wiper motor wiring is securely connected.
