To remove the wiper blade assembly, compress the locking tab and pull the mounting prong out of the arm. Note that some models have a Phillips screw you must unscrew. To replace the complete blade assembly, bend the retaining clip down and pull the assembly off the arm. Note: Ensure the arm is pulled away from the windshield past the detent (holding point), and then release it to avoid scratching. If replacing the arm assembly, the wipers must be in park position which can be done by switching on ignition and wiper switch to turn them on, then allowing them to complete a full cycle before stopping them from a switch position. Shut the ignition and remember the position of the wipers concerning the bottom of the windscreen. Remove the retaining nut, then carefully disengage the inner end of the wiper arm from its splines on the wiper linkage. Next, install the new arm in the parked position and attach it to the splines. Finally, replace the retaining nut. You can replace rubber inserts or blades alone. Only pull the insert and its reinforcing strips away from the holder while being careful with the end with a lock tab. Extract and retain 2 metal rods used to reinforce the old insert. The new insert comes without the 2 rods. Insert the reinforcements into the new blade's channel and slide the insert through the holder, ensuring it passes through each clip. Pull sharply to seat the clips correctly. This tab-and-slot system is important for keeping the insert in place.
