  • Q: What is the function of the Throttle Position Sensor and how is it tested on 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante?
    A: TP sensor is throttle-body potentiometer which delivers proportional voltage to the PCM to be controlled. Has 5V refer, ground and wiper (approximately 0.9V idle; 4.8V WOT). Test with ignition on: idle 0.2-1.4V, WOT approximately 4.8V. With no output with supply/ground, replace; otherwise repair wiring. To change: disconnection of battery, unplug of harness, screws, positioning of tangs and attaching.
