    A: Unscrew the negative battery cable and take off the steering column cover to reach the ignition switch/lock cylinder. Cut the band of cable, then remove the bolts holding the switch-on 1988-and-later models cut the bolts and re-install them. Unbolt the key reminder switch and take out the ignition switch/lock cylinder and replace in reverse.
