How to replace the Cruise Control Switch, Turn Signal Switch and Windshield Wiper Switch mounted on the steering column on Mitsubishi Galant?

These models feature steering column mounted switches that can be removed separately while keeping the steering wheel in place. If there are issues with the main switch body, such as a defective canceling cam, the steering wheel will need to be removed for replacement. The left side lever controls signaling and lighting, while the right side manages the wipers and washer system. For models equipped with cruise control, an additional control lever is located on the steering wheel hub, behind the wiper/washer lever. To replace the turn signal and wiper/washer switches, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the steering column cover and the driver's side lower dash covers. Depress the retaining clips and pull the switch straight out to detach it, then place the new switch into position and push it in until securely locked. The installation process is the reverse of removal. For the cruise control switch, disconnect the electrical connector from the switch, remove the airbag and steering wheel, then detach the trim piece from the back of the steering wheel by removing the screws, followed by the switch securing screws.
