The switch on top of the transaxle is the Neutral Safety Switch that tells the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) the gear of the automatic transaxle. Always keep the ignition key in the OFF position while removing the electrical connector of the Neutral Safety Switch. After that, remove the nut to disconnect the shift cable from the Neutral Safety Switchmanual control lever. Next, remove the bolt on the manual lever shaft nut, remove the lever, and unscrew the mounting bolts of the Neutral Safety Switch to take out the Neutral Safety Switch. The installation is executed in reverse, followed by a significant adjustment step. Place the shifter in the Neutral position inside the vehicle and loosen the shift cable-to-manual control lever adjusting nut. Positioned manually control lever to Neautral position make hole of end of lever and neutral align hole of Neutral Safety Switch body flange. Loosen the mounting bolts of the Neutral Safety Switch if misalignment occurs. Turn the Neutral Safety Switch body body until the holes are aligned. Use a drill bit for checking alignment. Tighten the Neutral Safety Switch body mounting bolts. Both bolts and nuts of the Neutral Safety Switch body and the transaxle control cable-to-manual lever. To finalize the procedure, apply tension to the shift cable and tighten the adjusting nut securely.
