To remove & install raise front of vehicle, support using jack stands and remove front wheels. This is followed by the removal of the stabiliser bar link nut and bolt, together will all washers, bushes and spacer tube. Keep these in order for reassembly. For CE models, loosen the nut retaining the ball joint to the
Steering Knuckle but do not remove it. Next, disconnect the ball joint by either using a separator or by hitting the opposite side of the steering knuckle eye. To remove the bracket, you must first remove the retaining nut and bolts of the rear pivot bush attached to the crossmember, noting its position. With the control arm supported, remove the front pivot bolt and nut, and withdraw the control arm. For CG and CH models, remove the lower ball joint pinch nut and bolt from the steering knuckle. Leverage the lower control arm down so that the ball joint stud separates from the steering knuckle. Take away the bolts that hold the control arm in place on the crossmember. Support the control arm in a way that it does not fall away. After that take away the front pivot bolt and nut so that you can withdraw the control arm. Examine the control arm closely for any sign of a crack, dent, and distortion. If necessary replace a control arm. Inspect control arm bushes and bolts. If the rear pivot bush on CE models has become worn, the installed position should be marked and the bush removed with a bar or bearing separator. Transfer the marks to the new bush, lubricate the inside with soapy water, align the bush to the control arm and press the bush on. On a press, support control arm on CG and CH model, use a tube to press out the old bush, lube the new bush, align and press on. Examine the front bush for signs of wear or damage. If the bushing is damaged, renew the control arm. Moreover, check the ball joint for wear and tear. After this check, renew the control arm if the ball joint is worn. As the reverse process of removal, installation involves installing the control arm to the vehicle, tightening the rear pivot bush bracket retaining bolts to specification, and ensuring the rear pivot bush is seated correctly. Install the front pivot bolt and its nut (do not tighten). Install the stabiliser bar link components in the order noted and tighten retaining nut. Install a new self-locking nut on the ball joint stud of the steering knuckle and tighten it for CE models. Install the pinch bolt for CG and CH models and tighten it. Install the front wheels and lower the car. Bounce the front of the car to stabilize the suspension and then tighten the front pivot bolt while the car's weight is resting on the suspension. It is recommended to inspect the alignment of the front wheels after replacing the control arm or rear bush.
