Start with the removal of the sump along with the pickup pipe for installation. Then, you must remove the drive belts and the
Timing Belt. After this, withdraw the crankshaft sprocket making sure you mark the timing belt direction if it will be reused. Go on to remove the pivot bolt tensioner spring, then the tensioner from the engine. Remove the bolts fastening the oil pump housing to the cylinder block, then tap the oil pump with a soft hammer to separate it from the cylinder block. Discard the O-ring. Without rotating the inner rotor, mark out its position with respect to the pump cover for easy reinstallation later on. To dismantle, remove the bolts of pickup pipe, discard the gasket, subsequently, hit with the impact driver to remove the screws of the oil pump cover. Take out the inner rotor and outer rotor by noticing their position and then remove the plug for the pressure relief valve noting the installed position of the spring and the piston. Remove the crankshaft oil seal carefully. Discard it afterwards. Carefully clean each of the oil pump components by following inspection of the components for wear, damage or other defects. Replace the components found to be worn or damaged as detailed in the manufacturer's service instructions. Make up the rotors of the pump housing and checking their orientation before measuring the clearances and replacing the parts if exceeding the specifications. Examine the pressure relief valve spring and piston for wear and oil passage obstructions. Thoroughly clean the screen and pickup of the oil pump. To carry out the assembly, reverse the steps of dismantling. Ensure that all the components are clean and coated with engine oil. Correctly assemble the rotors, packing the space between them with petroleum jelly (optional) for better starting oil pressure. The pump cover should be installed and the screws should be torqued to the specification given. A new crankshaft oil seal should be installed squarely. Put the relief valve's piston and spring back in place. Before installation, make sure you prime the oil pump using clean engine oil instead of petroleum jelly. Install the oil pump housing with an O-ring, ensuring all gasket material is removed from the cylinder block, and apply sealant to the mating surfaces. The oil pump retaining bolts must be sufficiently tightened and reinstallation of the sump, timing belt and drive belts must be done, after which the engine must be completely filled with oil. The engine is then run and leaks are checked.
