How to remove and install Coil Springs using a coil spring compressor on Mitsubishi Lancer?

In the luggage compartment, remove the dust cover from the suspension unit upper mounting and remove the upper mounting nuts for the removal and installation of a coil spring and coil spring compressor. When removing the suspension unit, carefully prise the dust cap off the suspension unit and loosen the piston rod nut without removing it. Before removing the washer, upper bush, upper mounting, insulator, coil spring, sleeve, lower bush, dust cover, and bump stop, mark the positions of spring, upper mounting, and insulator. Check the coil spring for cracks or damage and, if one of the rear springs is unserviceable, replace both. Examine the condition of all rubber parts. Replace worn parts and replace the suspension unit if the lower rubber bush is worn. Move the piston rod up and down to check the shock absorber for firm pressure with no slack. Also check for any leakage and if it is, replace the unit. To assemble, reverse the disassembly steps. Make sure to secure the suspension unit in a vice, install the bump stop and dust cover, compress the coil spring and put it on the suspension unit. Fit the lower bush, sleeve, insulator, upper mounting, upper bush and washer, taking care to line them up with the earlier mark. To fit the piston rod nut of the new suspension unit securely, the spring compressors can now be carefully removed. Now position the suspension unit in the rear wheel housing. With help, install the upper mount assembly retaining nuts and tighten to specified torque. Install the suspension unit to the lower control arm, passing the retaining bolt through the unit, and fit the retaining nut without tightening. Then lower the vehicle to the ground, tighten the nut on the piston rod and install the dust cap. To finish, bounce the front of the vehicle to obtain system stabilization, and then tighten the suspension unit retaining nut to the specified torque.
