The locations of the toe Axle Shaft Seals are on the sides of the transaxle. The inner ends of the driveaxles are splined into the differential side gears. In case of suspicion of a Axle Shaft Seal leak, the vehicle should be raised and supported on jackstands. Lubricant will be seen on the side of the transaxle if a seal is leaking. Remove driveaxle to replace the seal. Next, carefully use a screwdriver or prybar to pry the oil seal from the transaxle bore. A special seal removal tool may be used for this task which is available at most auto parts stores. Use of the special oil seal removal tool will be necessary if basic tools don't work. When the old seal has been removed, drive the new oil seal squarely into the bore using a seal installer until fully seated. Reinstall the drive axle finally.
