Discharge the Fuel System Pressure. Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal. Then you can Remove and Install the Fuel Tank. To remove the rear seat cushion, first find and pull the two retaining clips located at the front of the cushion. Then, lift and withdraw the cushion. Remove the floor access covers with a flat-blade screwdriver inserted in the cover grooves. Remove the wiring from both the fuel pump and the fuel gauge sender unit. For the CG and CH models, undo the centre exhaust pipe's nuts and bolts that hold it to the catalytic converter and tailpipe, release the pipe from the mountings and discard the seating gaskets. Take out the bolt that secures the handbrake cable to the left side of the body and position the cable away from the fuel tank. Simply disconnect the ABS sensor wiring from either side of the fuel tank and move it out of the way. To disconnect the fuel supply hose from the tank, squeeze together the tangs on each side of the fuel supply hose fitting. Release the clamp and disconnect the return hose. These instructions will help you to loosen the clamp to disconnect the filler hose from the filler pipe. Similarly, you must release the clamp to disconnect the breather hose from the breather pipe. With assistance, support the fuel tank and remove the nuts that retain it to the vehicle body; lower and maneuver the fuel tank from the vehicle. To install, ensure the tank is clean, undamaged, and free from corrosion. With assistance, raise it into position, install and securely tighten the retaining nuts, and then install the filler and breather hoses, making sure the clamps are secure. Make sure to connect the fuel supply and return hoses and all the wiring.
